Bio

Mohamed was born in Oran, Algeria (1987) and presently lives and works in Paris where he is studying at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris. His current practice involves a study of various aspects of the image, tracing its origins from concept to material visibility.

According to Mohamed, before an image becomes visible it demonstrates a different concept in the form of a pure idea. The physical process of making the image becomes one of the most challenging measures of man and his intelligence. In order to fully comprehend the image, Mohamed attempts to fully examine and question each step of its’ creation.

He uses two methods, a formal and conceptual repertoire, in order to promote a link between the vehicle (i.e. the subject of the image, the object of contemplation) and the concept, which is deployed in a multitude of layers that define its’ meaning.

Previous exhibitions include presentations at the Beaux-Arts Gallery, Paris, and notably his dual exhibition with Priscilla Monge, La Mala Educación (2011) at mor . charpentier, Paris.
